Philp US M1356A introduction 

The M1356A ultrasound transducer detects fetal heart motion by directing a

low-energy, pulsed Doppler ultrasound beam at the fetal heart. The transducer

contains seven crystals that emit ultrasonic signals and receive reflected signals from

the fetal heart. The change in rate caused by movement of the fetal heart is

converted into an electrical signal from which the fetal heart rate is derived. The blue

ultrasonic transducer is a sealed unit and is not serviceable.

The Toco M1355A sensor takes relative measurements of uterine activity. Blue Toco

sensors are sealed and cannot be repaired.
