A probe is a device that sends and receives ultrasound to obtain image data. It is also called a transducer or scan head. The system limits the patient's exposure temperature to 43 degrees Celsius and limits the acoustic output value to the respective US FDA limits. The power protection fuse circuit prevents overcurrent conditions. If the power monitor protection circuit detects an overcurrent situation, it will immediately cut off the probe's drive current to prevent the probe surface from overheating and limit the sound output. For invasive probes, additional protection measures are designed to keep the patient contact surface temperature below 43 degrees Celsius in the event of a single failure
