► Main System Board Functions

The main motherboard contains the main computing and control elements of the E Series device. The Printed Wiring Board (PWBA) receives

signals from the front panel control switches, ECG input connectors, and functional modules such as the AC/DC battery charger.

modules. The main motherboard monitors and processes these input signals to generate other signals that: 1) control the operation of other

The main board electronics and software provide the following primary functions of the E Series:

1. Main processor and memory.

2. Acquisition of ECG signal and processing of ECG leads, including:

• A/D conversion.

• Detection of ECG signals.

• QRS detection.

• Detection of an implanted pacemaker.

• Heart rate counting.

• Shockable ECG rhythm analysis.

3. Data communication with SpO2, EtCO2 and NIBP modules and their control.

4. Safety control and monitoring of pacemaker and defibrillator functions provided by high voltage module and biphasic bridge module.

5. Treatment of physiological alarms.

6. Monitor the front panel control switch, monitor the connection of accessories, and monitor the system response to activating the switch or connecting E-Series accessories.

7. Format and refresh the front panel display.

8. The main power supply of the device.

9. Generation and control of sound output (e.g. alarms, voice commands, warning sounds).

10. Sound signal processing, data compression, sound recording data storage.

11. Real-time clock and other timing functions.

12. Summary report, 12-lead ECG report data storage.

13. Monitor battery status and control battery charging functions performed by PWBA AC or DC charger.

14. Data transfer and control includes system interconnection PCB functions, including tape diagram recorder and PCMCIA slot functions.
