Oxygen sensor calibration test

Test the oxygen sensor calibration as follows:

1. Connect the ventilator oxygen tubing to a known source of 100% O2 (e.g., a medical oxygen cylinder). Press the 100% O2/CAL button for 2

minutes or the INCREASE O2 button for 2 minutes to calibrate the oxygen sensor. Once the button light turns off, proceed to the next step.

2. Connect the ventilator oxygen tubing to another known source of 100% O2 (e.g., a second medical oxygen cylinder).

3. Set %O2 to the following values ​​and wait one minute for each monitored value to stabilize: 21% 40% 90%

4. Observe the upper display to ensure that the O2 value (% O2 delivered) is within 3% of each setting within one minute of selecting each

setting.

Oxygen Sensor Calibration Button: Older ventilators use the 100% O2/CAL 2 minutes button, while newer ventilators use the INCREASE O2 2

minutes button. Provides 100% oxygen (if available) for two minutes and calibrates the oxygen sensor. The green light on this button will

illuminate and a message (100% O2 Cal in Progress) will appear on the lower touchscreen to indicate 100% O2 delivery is active. If you press the

O2 button again, the system will restart the two-minute delivery interval. Press CANCEL to stop calibration. For information on calibrating the

oxygen sensor, see page TR 15-5.

Alarm Messages

If you see this O2 Sensor message, it means that background checks have identified a problem with the oxygen sensor (sensor error or not calibrated). Patient ventilation will not be affected. And you can:

• Press 100% O2 CAL or O2 INCREASE for 2 minutes to recalibrate the oxygen sensor.

• Disable the oxygen sensor.

• Replace the oxygen sensor.
