Noninvasive blood pressure (NIBP) measurement is based on the oscillometric principle. The cuff is inflated to a pressure slightly higher than the

estimated systolic blood pressure and then slowly deflated at a rate based on the patient's heart rate to collect data on the vibrations caused by

arterial pulsations. From this data, the device calculates systolic, mean, and diastolic blood pressure values.

The blood pressure measured by this device is the same as that measured by an intra-arterial blood pressure measuring device. Multiple intra-

arterial sites are used.

The NIBP module can be set to auto-cycle mode to take measurements at required intervals. It can also measure NIBP continuously for 5 minutes

in STAT mode or individually.

Pressure Sensor: This is the core of blood pressure monitoring and is responsible for detecting pressure changes within the cuff. Once the cuff is

inflated and wrapped around the patient's arm, the pressure sensor can detect pressure fluctuations caused by heartbeats and vascular

pulsations.

Signal Processing System: This system includes analog and digital signal processing sections. The analog signal processor receives analog

signals from the pressure sensor and amplifies and filters them to extract a clear blood pressure signal. The digital signal processor processes the

signal after analog signal processing and calculates parameters such as systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and mean arterial

pressure using algorithms.
