The energy levels in the discharge sequence must be calibrated via software. A series of defibrillation shocks are delivered to an externally calibrated energy meter, such as the Metron QA 45, and the actual values/displayed readings are entered manually via the service menu.
The CPU system then calculates any voltage changes required to achieve the correct energy. Calibration is performed at 50 Joules and 360 Joules with a 50 Ohm load.
The processor board is located on the metal frame behind the display:
- Place the Cardio-Aid® chassis in "Open Service Position"
- Disconnect all cables connected to the Processor board
- Remove the eleven Torx screws (3x6) on the processor board
- Remove the board
