The Innomed Cardio-Aid 200-B Dual Capacitor Assembly (130-0257-002 UP1-16920J 100μF 2100VDC) allows for rapid charging and discharging of energy, facilitating effective delivery of shocks during emergency situations.
Replacing the HV Capacitor
WARNING! Before handling the high-voltage capacitor, ensure it is de-energized by measuring it with a voltage probe (1000:1). When connecting the high-voltage probe, be careful not to touch the terminals and use adequate insulation. If voltage is present, wait until the high-voltage capacitor is completely discharged. If the capacitor is still charged, you can discharge it by connecting a drain resistor (e.g., 100 kΩ, 17 W) directly across the high-voltage capacitor terminals for at least 30 seconds. Be careful when connecting the resistor and use adequate insulation.
IMPORTANT! When storing the high-voltage capacitor, always short-circuit it.
- Place the Cardio-Aid® chassis in the closed service position, on the right side of the rear chassis.
- To remove the high-voltage capacitor, cut the two cable ties holding it in place.
- Remove the high-voltage capacitor.
- Remove the high-voltage (HV) capacitor plates, observing their polarity.
- Remove the shorting wire from the new high-voltage capacitor.
- Install the high-voltage capacitor plates into the HV-C. WARNING! Ensure the polarity of the high-voltage capacitor plates is correct.
- Remove the protective tape from the high-voltage capacitors and secure them to the chassis.
- Install the cable ties on the high-voltage capacitors. Reassemble in reverse order.
IMPORTANT! The cable ties securing the high-voltage capacitors must be securely tightened to ensure mechanical stability.
