Probe Cleaning Procedure
Cleaning
- Remove the probe from the system.
- Put on sterile gloves to prevent infection.
- Wash the sensor with clean water or soapy water to remove dirt, or wipe it with a soft polyurethane sponge. Do not use a brush, as this may damage the sensor.
- After rinsing, dry the sensor with a sterile towel or gauze. Do not heat the sensor to dry it.
Disinfection with Spray or Wipe
- Put on sterile gloves to prevent infection.
- After cleaning, spray or wipe the sensor with disinfectant. Follow the disinfectant manufacturer's recommended disinfection time and method.
- Remove all residue from the sensor with a soft cloth dampened with water.
- After cleaning, wipe the sensor with a sterile cloth or gauze and allow it to dry.
