Product Description

Cooling Fan for Mindray Datascope Passport2

Mindray Datascope Passport2 Patient Monitor Cooling Fan Assembly ICFAN S0510-12 DC12V 0, Used-Good Medical Device Part

1. Brief Description

The Mindray Datascope Passport2 Patient Monitor Cooling Fan Assembly is a crucial yet often overlooked component. Its core function is to dissipate heat during high-speed operation, effectively removing the large amounts of heat generated by the monitor's internal electronic components (such as the power supply, motherboard, and backlight) from the machine. This ensures stable operation of the monitor even at high temperatures; otherwise, excessive heat may affect equipment performance and create safety hazards.

► 3. Frequently Asked Questions

1. Fan stops completely: Heat will quickly accumulate inside the device. The monitor will usually automatically shut down within minutes to protect the hardware due to overheating, and may display error codes related to high temperature or the fan on the screen.

2. Fan rotates slowly or makes abnormal noise: This is usually caused by insufficient lubrication, wear, or dust ingress into the bearings. This leads to reduced heat dissipation efficiency, and prolonged exposure can damage the device.

3. Fan stops/starts intermittently: This could be due to a faulty fan itself, or a problem with the temperature sensor or control circuitry.

► 4. Cooling Fan

• The cooling fan is on when the device is powered by an external power source.

• The cooling fan is off when the device is powered by the internal battery.

► 5. Detection

The tachometer (TG) generates a two-cycle square wave for each revolution of the fan motor. This square wave is then converted to a digital logic level, turning on Q2 (FET). The output of Q2 is pulled low. The 860T chip uses this level to detect whether the fan is working properly. If FTACH goes high, the 860T chip pulls FAN_CNTRL low, turning off Q1 FET, disconnecting the fan's digital ground connection, and stopping it from operating.
