After selecting this menu, the device will perform an echo test by displaying the name of the pressed button.

1. A blank button name will be displayed on the screen.

2. After pressing a button, its name will be displayed in the button name window.

3. Test each button one by one to verify its functionality.

4. A second window containing blank boxes will be displayed on the screen.

5. As you rotate the control knob, the corresponding blank box will light up each time it reaches a valid position.

6. Press the "Print" button to print the test results to the local recorder.

7. Press and hold the "Normal" button to return to the diagnostic test menu.

The Navigator Control Knob is a quadrature encoder with an integrated switch. This device is used for scrolling and selecting LCD menus. Quadrature signals CHA and CHB are input via connectors J5-70 and J5-71. The communication processor parses the serial data stream and sends it to the MPC860T via a dual-port RAM; the data includes direction, speed, and the status of the integrated switch.
