Description

This cable connects the motherboard and printer on the Biocare PM900 monitor. It translates and transmits the processed physiological waveforms and values from the motherboard to the printer in real time, while also coordinating the printer's operation to print out the ECG data on paper, making it convenient for doctors to view and assess the patient's health.

Applications:

- Data Transmission: When the user presses the print button, the motherboard sends these digitized physiological signals and measurement values to the printing unit via this connection cable.

- Power Supply: The print head in the printing unit requires a large instantaneous current to heat the thermal paper for development. This connection cable provides the converted voltage to the print head.

- Status Monitoring and Feedback: This connection cable transmits the monitor's detection signals to the motherboard, such as paper shortage, whether the print tray cover is closed, and other error reports. The motherboard then displays these signals on the screen, allowing the user to make judgments and take appropriate actions.

Fault Symptoms:

- Pressing the "Print" button does not respond to the machine, and there is no error message on the screen.

- The screen displays "Printer Error" or "Out of Paper" (but there is actually enough paper), which may be due to a poor connection in the signal cable.

How to replace it?

1. Preparation: Wear an anti-static wrist strap, prepare a Phillips screwdriver and insulated tweezers, and clean the work surface.

2. Disassembling the Housing: Unscrew the screws securing the bottom of the device and remove the back cover. Note: Screws should be categorized and stored separately to prevent loss.

3. Locating the Ribbon Cable: Locate the flat ribbon cable connecting the motherboard and the printer assembly.

4. Recording and Disassembly:

- Take photos for record-keeping: Take photos of the ribbon cable connection status for future reference.

- Proper cable removal: For ZIF connectors, gently pry open the clips before pulling out the ribbon cable; do not pull the cable directly.

5. Installing the New Cable: Align the keyed notch and insert the new ribbon cable straight into the connector.

- Key Step: Ensure the ribbon cable is fully inserted, then press the connector clips firmly until you hear a "click" or feel a locking action.

6. Temporary Power-On Test: Without the housing installed, connect the power and send a print command. Observe whether the print head moves and whether the waveform is clear.

Note: The test is for functional verification only. The device must be fully enclosed to ensure electrical safety before it is put into use.
