Application Scenarios:

1. Artificial Airway Establishment: Used for oral or nasal insertion, connected to a ventilator, to provide ventilation support for patients unable to breathe spontaneously or experiencing respiratory failure.

2. Respiratory Monitoring (EtCO2):

- Intubation Positioning: In emergency or out-of-hospital care, it determines whether the endotracheal tube has been accurately inserted into the trachea. Once intubation is successful, the monitor will immediately display the CO2 waveform.

- Ventilation Assessment: Real-time monitoring of the patient's lung ventilation status, such as respiratory rate and tidal volume.

- Circulatory Assessment: During cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the EtCO2 value reflects the quality of CPR and whether the patient has regained spontaneous circulation.

3. Filtration Protection: The "filter" section in the kit typically has a filtration function, which can intercept bacteria, viruses, and moisture in the patient's exhaled air, protecting the monitor's sensors from contamination and preventing cross-infection.

How to use?

- Ensure the sterile packaging is intact and not expired. Inflate the cuff with a syringe, check for leaks, then evacuate the air and prepare for insertion.

- Administer appropriate anesthesia or sedation to the patient. Use a laryngoscope to expose the glottis.

- Holding the endotracheal tube handle, align it with the glottis and gently insert the tube into the trachea, ensuring the insertion depth mark (cm scale) is aligned with the incisors. Record the depth.

- After insertion to the appropriate depth, secure the tube and withdraw the laryngoscope.

- Connect the Microstream sampling tube on the tube to the EtCO2 module interface of the anesthesia machine or monitor. Activate the gas monitoring function of the monitor. If the waveform is normal, the intubation is successful; if there is no waveform, immediately check for accidental entry into the esophagus.

- After confirming correct positioning, connect the large-diameter end of the tube to the threaded tubing of the ventilator or anesthesia machine.
