Encoder Installation Steps

1. Preparation Before Disassembly

Be sure to disconnect the monitor from the AC power supply and remove the built-in battery pack to ensure the device is completely powered off.

Wear an anti-static wrist strap or touch a metal object before operation to prevent static electricity from damaging the motherboard circuitry.

2. Removing the Front Panel and Motherboard

Use a suitable screwdriver to remove the screws securing the back and bottom of the device. When opening the back cover or separating the front panel, be careful with the flexible ribbon cables connecting the display and the keypad. Disconnect these cables carefully to avoid tearing.

3. Replacing the Encoder Assembly (629906-16)

This encoder is usually soldered or plugged into the keypad control board, located at the knob position on the side of the display. Check if the encoder is secured to the housing with a nut. If so, first remove the external securing nut with pliers or a socket wrench, then directly pull out the old assembly and insert the new assembly, aligning it with the notch.

4. Reassembly and Testing

When installing the new encoder, ensure its positioning posts are aligned with the holes on the circuit board to avoid twisting.

Before fully tightening the casing screws, it is recommended to connect the battery and test the device. Rotate the encoder to observe whether the menu selection or numerical adjustment on the screen is responsive, and press the knob to confirm whether the functions are working properly.

After confirming that the functions are working correctly, disconnect the power, tidy up the internal cables, close the casing, and tighten all screws evenly.
