The SB-201P is a dedicated rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery pack, primarily used as a portable main power source or backup power source for devices such as the Nippon Kohden PVM-2700, PVM-2703, and PVM-2701 monitors. It provides power to the devices without being plugged into AC power, enabling monitoring and defibrillation during in-hospital and out-of-hospital transport, ensuring uninterrupted monitoring of the patient as they travel from the ward to the examination room.

This battery is a nickel-metal hydride battery, which has a higher energy density and no significant memory effect compared to older nickel-cadmium batteries. It is also easier to maintain, charging whenever needed. An integrated temperature fuse or overheat protection prevents overheating during charging and discharging, ensuring safe use. It is deeply compatible with devices; after being installed in the main unit, it will automatically trickle charge in standby mode. If AC power is interrupted, the device will seamlessly switch to battery power, ensuring uninterrupted operation.
