Introduction
This S/5 Compact Monitor Display Unit is a core component of the GE Datex-Ohmeda S/5 series patient monitoring system. Available in two key variants — F-CM1-05 (primarily for anesthesia applications) and F-CMC1-05 (for critical care use) — this display unit integrates a high-performance central processing board (CPB) with a vivid 12.1-inch SVGA active matrix color TFT LCD screen (800×600 resolution) capable of presenting up to 8 simultaneous waveforms and 4 numeric data fields . Its ergonomic user interface combines a custom Command Wheel navigator, intuitive front-panel keypad, and an on-screen programmable menu system, enabling clinicians to easily adjust modules, monitoring modes, alarm settings, display configurations, and unit calibrations.
Display Unit functional description
The Compact Monitor Display Unit includes the following parts:
• Central Processing Board (CPB): includes Display Controller, UPI, CPU and optionally Network and MemCard functions
• Color LCD display and its backlight inverter
• Connector board
• Command board
• Display Unit DC/DC power supply
• Fan and loudspeaker

Cautions

• Before connecting the power cord to the power supply, check that the local voltage and frequency correspond with the rating stated on the device plate.
• Do not immerse any part of the device in any liquid, or allow liquid to enter the monitor or modules
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals, this may produce a very high current, which will damage the battery.
•The monitor or its components should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment. If adjacent or stacked use is necessary, the monitor and its components should be observed to verify normal operation in the configuration in which it will be used.
• Never install the monitor so that it is above the patient.
•The monitor display is fragile. Ensure that it is not placed near a heat source or exposed to mechanical shocks, pressure, moisture or direct sunlight.
