The connection cable between the EDAN Cadence II fetal monitor's motherboard and power board is primarily responsible for power distribution and signal transmission. This cable harness is a combination of power and signal lines. The power lines, which deliver the main power supply, are thicker and can withstand the high current surges during printing. The signal lines, which handle low-power logic communication, are thinner and typically use twisted wire or shielded designs to prevent electromagnetic pulses from the power lines from interfering with the motherboard's power status readings. The interfaces use pluggable connectors with spring-loaded clips. This structure prevents terminals from gradually loosening due to vibration and causing poor contact. Functions:

- The motherboard regulates the DC voltage output from the power board in real time via the connection cable. During periods of high load, such as printer startup, it sends a command to the power board to enter high-speed response mode, preventing power loss.

- The motherboard obtains stable DC power from the power board via the connection cable, physically isolated by a transformer, and then distributes it to peripherals through the secondary voltage regulation circuitry on the motherboard.

- The signal lines in the wiring harness handle the AC/DC switching logic. When the power cord is accidentally unplugged or there is a power outage, the power board senses the power failure and instantly feeds it back to the motherboard through this wiring harness. The motherboard immediately executes the interrupt program, smoothly switches to battery power mode, and issues an audible and visual alarm.
