Description

The connection cable between the display board and the printer board of the EDAN CADENCE II fetal monitor is primarily responsible for transmitting monitoring waveforms, data, and control commands to the thermal printing module, which then prints the data into reports for doctors to review. It uses a wide, flexible, flat cable with small interface spacing and metal-reinforced tongues to withstand repeated insertions and removals. The cable is extremely thin and bend-resistant, allowing it to run along narrow guide slots inside the casing, adapting to the structural requirements of flip-top printers or drawer-type modules.

Functions:

- The motherboard converts the processed fetal heart rate curve, uterine contraction pressure curve, and numerical values into dot matrix data for the print lines, and sends it to the print board via a connecting cable, synchronizing with the data displayed on the screen for printing.

- The print board uses this data to monitor the print head temperature in real time. If the temperature is too high, a protection mechanism is activated, pausing printing; if the temperature is too low, it notifies the motherboard to increase the heating pulse width.

- After the motherboard issues a command, it needs feedback from the print board regarding the execution status. Issues such as print board self-test abnormalities, overheat protection triggering, or paper shortage will be transmitted back to the motherboard via a specific signal line. Based on this, the motherboard displays prompts such as "Printer out of paper" or "Print head overheating" on the screen and decides whether to stop sending data.
