Philipph CCO C.O. PiCCO Module M1012A REF 862279 New Original Spare Part
► Brief Description
The CCO C.O. PiCCO Module (Model M1012A, REF 862279) is a brand-new, original unit featuring a gray plastic housing. It is distinguished by a highly visible orange connector and boasts a compact, space-saving design. Unlike traditional Swan-Ganz catheters, PiCCO technology eliminates the need for pulmonary artery catheterization; instead, it involves injecting a small volume of cold or room-temperature saline through a central venous catheter and sensing temperature changes via a specialized PiCCO arterial thermodilution catheter placed in a peripheral artery. By analyzing the thermodilution curve, the module accurately calculates individual cardiac output (CO) measurements. Through continuous analysis, it calculates continuous cardiac output (CCO) in real-time, enabling dynamic, uninterrupted monitoring of the patient's hemodynamic status.

►Key Functions and Clinical Value
1.Outputs comprehensive hemodynamic parameters: In addition to core CO and CCO measurements, the module calculates a range of critical indicators, including:
Cardiac Index (CI): A body surface area-adjusted value reflecting cardiac pump function.
Intrathoracic Blood Volume (ITBV) and Extravascular Lung Water (EVLW): Allow for the precise assessment of cardiac preload and the severity of pulmonary edema.
Stroke Volume Variation (SVV): Used to guide fluid resuscitation and determine a patient's fluid responsiveness.
2.Systemic Vascular Resistance Index (SVRI): Reflects cardiac afterload.
These parameters provide a crucial basis for precise fluid management and clinical decision-making in patients with conditions such as septic shock, cardiogenic shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and severe burns.
3.Minimally invasive, safe, and efficient: Eliminates the need for pulmonary artery catheterization, thereby significantly avoiding associated complications (such as arrhythmias, pulmonary artery rupture, and infection) while reducing catheter placement time and procedural risks.
►Operating Steps
1.Insert the M1012A module into the module slot of the patient monitor.
2.Connect the PULSIOCATH arterial catheter to the M1012A module.
3.Connect the central venous catheter to the module's injection port.
4.Select the "Setup C.O." or "Setup CCO" menu on the monitor.
►Note
Review the thermodilution curve after each measurement. A normal C.O. curve should exhibit a smooth peak and return to the temperature baseline level after the peak. Irregular curves or curves marked with a "?" require careful review.
►Calibrating CCO
After completing at least three valid thermodilution measurements, these values are used to calibrate the continuous cardiac output (CCO) based on pulse contour analysis. Once calibrated, the module can continuously monitor CCO using the arterial waveform.
