Introduction

The Mindray 115-021478-00 is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) inspiratory valve – often referred to as the inspiratory safety valve – designed for Mindray's SV‑series and E‑series ventilators. It’s a core pneumatic component that sits in the inspiratory limb of the breathing circuit, controlling the flow of gas from the ventilator into the patient’s airway.

Functions

1. Controls inspiratory flow. During inspiration, the valve precisely opens, delivering clean, pressurized gas from the ventilator to the patient's airway. During expiration, the valve closes to prevent backflow. This one-way action ensures gas flows in the correct direction, providing the patient with the preset tidal volume.

2. Prevents overpressure. If airway pressure exceeds safe limits, the valve rapidly releases excess pressure. This pressure relief function helps prevent barotrauma and lung injury in ventilator operated patients.

3. Monitors pressure and flow in real time. The valve integrates high-precision pressure and tension sensors, feeding data back to the ventilator control system. This allows the ventilator to dynamically adjust inspiratory flow and pressure, synchronizing with the patient's breathing.

Disassembly and Installation

1. After placing the ventilator in standby mode, you can directly grasp the valve body and pull it out from the interface. The valve plate inside is relatively fragile, so handle it with care during disassembly.

2. Align the new or sterilized valve with the 15mm interface and push it in smoothly until it is firmly in place.

• Do not disassemble the inspiratory safety valve or expiratory valve while the ventilator is running; the device must first be switched to standby mode.
• The ventilator must be regularly inspected and maintained by trained service personnel. It is recommended to check the valves regularly based on usage frequency and environmental conditions.
• Replace any faulty parts immediately if there are any issues such as poor sealing, abnormal pressure, or slow response, to avoid affecting treatment safety.
• This valve supports high-temperature, high-pressure sterilization at 134°C, which effectively reduces the risk of cross-infection. Please follow the standard sterilization procedure.
