PRIMEDIC M500 Portable Multi Parameter Patient Monitor
PRIMEDIC M500 Portable Multi Parameter Patient Monitor
Introduction
The PRIMEDIC M500 is a portable, multi-parameter patient monitor designed for continuous vital sign monitoring in a variety of clinical settings.
This monitor is suitable for use by trained healthcare professionals in hospitals, emergency departments, operating rooms, and during patient transport. Its portable design makes it suitable for both bedside monitoring and mobile applications.
Functions
1. Monitors essential vital signs. The M500 tracks ECG, NIBP, SpO₂, pulse rate, respiration, and temperature as standard.
2. Delivers clear, real-time visualisation. The high-brightness colour display shows multiple waveforms simultaneously, making it easy for clinicians to read patient data at a glance even in challenging lighting conditions common in emergency and transport settings.
3. Provides advanced ECG analysis. The monitor supports real-time ST segment analysis and arrhythmia analysis. This helps clinicians detect ischaemic changes and cardiac rhythm abnormalities early a critical capability in emergency and critical care.
4.Connects to hospital networks. The monitor supports networking with multiple beds and connects to hospital information systems (HIS). This enables centralised monitoring, data integration, and remote access for the broader clinical team.
Connecting patient sensors:
-
Attach the ECG leads to the patient and connect them to the monitor.
-
Apply the SpO₂ sensor to the patient's finger.
-
Wrap the NIBP cuff around the patient's upper arm at heart level.
-
Connect the temperature probe(s) for temperature monitoring.
Starting monitoring:
-
Power on the monitor.
-
Verify that all parameter waveforms and numeric data are displayed.
-
Set alarm limits as appropriate for the patient's condition.
-
The monitor will begin continuous real-time monitoring.
Stay attentive
1. Use only PRIMEDIC-approved accessories. Using non-approved parts may affect measurement accuracy, compromise patient safety, and void the warranty.
2. Keep the monitor clean. The fanless design helps reduce dust accumulation, but the exterior should still be wiped regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Disconnect the power before cleaning.
3. Monitor battery status. When running on battery, keep an eye on the battery indicator. Charge the battery when not in use to ensure it's ready for transport or power outages.
