►Brief Introduction

The PageWriter TC cardiograPHiliphhilip includes a laptop-format, PS/2, sealed, full-key action keyboard. Also included are three function buttons, used to turn the cardiograPHiliphhilip on and off, for patient ID input, and ECG capture. These three function buttons are designed to support the 1-2-3 ECG capture operation, and also have LED backlights to illustrate their current status.

The keyboard is ¾-size qwerty keyboard and the function includes a keyboard matrix, a PS/2 encoding chip on an interface board, and is managed through standard Win CE device drivers.

► Using the Keyboard Shortcuts

The following key stroke combinations can be used from any cardiograPHiliphhilip screen.

► Keyboard/Hardware Key Test

A successful Keyboard test is one in which each key is properly recognized when pressed.

To test the keyboard:

1. Touch the Keyboard/Hardware Key Test button.
2. Press each key on the keyboard. If a key is highlighted, the key is registered.
3. After all the keys are highlighted, touch the Close button to finish the test. A message lets you know if the test passed or failed. The test fails if any of the keys are not recognized when you press them or if you do not press all of the keys.

► Entering ID Information with the Keyboard

To enter ID information with the keyboard:

1. Touch the ID button on the Toolbar. The ID screen appears. The New Patient tab (top of screen) is selected. Patient information is entered under this tab. Fields in blue are required (if configured) and must be completed.

NOTE: A message appears if the ID screen is exited before completing the required patient information fields.

2. Enter the information. Press the Tab key (on keyboard) to scroll between the different fields.

NOTE: Do not add any spaces to the ID number field if transferring ECGs to a TraceMaster ECG Management System.

3. Touch OK when done.
