► Brief Introduction
The Adapter Assembly is used to fill anesthetic agents into the vaporizer, it helps to prevent loss of anesthetic agent. The product is designed with two inner tubes, one to let the air escape and the other to let the agent flow. The adapters are agent-specific color coded corresponding to anesthetic agent, for example the adapter is yellow color coded for sevoflurane vaporizer agent. The adapter ensures that the right filler is plugged into the vaporizer. The ultrasonic welded assembly is comprised of a Sevo body, spring retainer, O-rings, stem and spring. This adapter is used in many systems such as MS CARESCAPE™ Monitor B850, ARC Aestiva 7100, ARC Airway Gas Module, ARC Tec 7 Vaporizer, ARC Aisys and Aladin Cassettes, among others.²
► Filling the Tec 7 vaporizer
1.Uncap the agent bottle and attach the Easy-fil adapter.
2.Unscrew the fill connection cap from the vaporizer.
3.Invert the bottle and insert the Easy-fil adapter into the vaporizer. It may be necessary to turn the bottle until it drops to its lowest position.
4.Press and hold the bottle down until the vaporizer is filled. Air bubbles in the bottle will indicate that agent is flowing into the vaporizer.
► After Filling the Tec 7 vaporizer
1.Remove the bottle from the vaporizer and remove the Easy-fil Adapter.
2.Recap the agent bottle and the vaporizer.
► Filling procedure
The filling system consists of three elements:
- the bottle collar
- the bottle adapter
- the filler block
The vaporizer must only be filled using the correct agent specific filling system
| Step 1 | Align the notches on the bottle adapter to the bottle collar and tighten the adapter onto the agent bottle. |
| Step 2 | Remove the filler cap. Align the bottle adapter keys with the index slots in the filler block as illustrated in Fig. 4-7. Insert the bottle nozzle into the filler block. |
| Step 3 | Press the agent bottle fully into the vaporizer filler block. Allow the liquid to flow into the vaporizer until the maximum level mark ¥ is reached. To help prevent overfill, ensure the agent level is at or below the fill line. Pay particular attention to the level in the sight glass and the air return bubbles flowing into the bottle. |
| Step 4 | Release the bottle when the vaporizer is full and the continuous stream of bubbles ceases. |
| Step 5 | Remove the bottle from the vaporizer filler. Replace the filler cap and the cap on the agent bottle. Ensure that the filler cap is tightened to help minimize leaks. |
