The NTC thermistor coated with epoxy resin will have a teardrop shape with beads and two radial wires. These thermistors often appear in environments and applications where moisture is present. Epoxy-coated NTC thermistors can often be found inside medical equipment used to measure air temperature and air flow. They are also used in automotive applications to control and monitor the seat heating function and internal air conditioning. Due to the destructive conditions in colder climates, it is not uncommon to find epoxy bead thermistors in green energy equipment such as wind turbines.
