◎ Introduction

The research of powder coatings for automotive coating has been carried out for more than 20 years, and the application field was initially limited to auto parts, automotive primers, anti-rock primers, etc. It was not until the late 1990s that it was used in batches for car topcoats and covers glossy paint, become a real car coating.

At present, the main powder coatings for aluminum wheels on the market are wheel base powder and overcoat transparent powder. Overcoat clear powders for automotive applications must have outstanding performance in terms of film thickness, gloss and brightness. Must have good mechanical properties such as impact resistance, scratch resistance and excellent adhesion. Coatings must be resistant to acid rain corrosion, temperature fluctuations, and UV rays, while complying with environmental protection and safety requirements, making production more economical while meeting quality goals. The overcoat clear powder is mainly polyester type, GMA acrylic type, etc.

Acrylic type transparent powder has good appearance and weather resistance, so most of the current aluminum wheel hub cover use acrylic type transparent powder. However, the acrylic type transparent powder has poor coverage on the corners of the aluminum wheel hub due to low viscosity and large flow, resulting in poor corrosion resistance of the aluminum wheel hub. Compared with acrylic type transparent powder coatings, polyester type transparent powder coatings have better edge and corner coverage and better corrosion resistance.

◎Spraying Parameter

Spraying Craft: Electrostatic spraying, fluidized bed dip coating.

Preheating Temperature: The workpiece can be preheated according to the workpiece condition and coating requirements

Curing conditions: It is recommended to bake at 180°C for 20 minutes or 200°C for 10 minutes after spraying at room temperature. Customers can adjust according to the site conditions.

The particle size of the powder corresponding to different coating methods will be different, please make a request in advance.

Different spray thickness will affect color, gloss, appearance, etc.

There is a difference between the laboratory sample and the production line coating plate, and the customer needs to adjust the spraying parameters to meet the requirements.

◎Health and Safety
