◎Introduction
NH6588T is a saturated carboxyl polyester resin designed for Primid XL 552 powder coating to be cured at 200℃.
The film-forming substance of polyester/TGIC system powder coatings is mainly polyester resin, and the performance of polyester resin determines the performance of powder coatings. Polyester resin is a linear or slightly branched heterochain polymer compound made by high-temperature condensation of polyol and polyacid. Due to the limitation of polyester resin molecular structure, powder coating shows the defect of poor weathering performance in the process of use, mainly for: powder coating crosslinking density is low, solvent resistance, heat resistance is poor; powder coating film-forming material contains a large number of ester bonds prone to hydrolysis; powder coating includes a small number of hydroxyl, easy to occur "β-elimination reaction", resulting in unsaturated bonds. In the process of using powder coating, it will be subject to light, moisture, oxygen, chemical medium, biomass enzymatic decomposition, and other environmental factors, which will lead to loss of light, discoloration, chalking, blistering, peeling, and other aging phenomena, limiting the scope of application of powder coating.
