Description:
The 23BA20 board has sixteen output relays, with two groups of eight contacts sharing a common return circuit.
This allows splitting the output channels to two different process voltage sources.
The processing I/O microcontroller (EAP - Input Output Processor) activates any output requested via command output demand, which is
enforced by the VAP of the CMU (CMU = Communication Unit).
The EAP controls the time duration of pulsed outputs by loading pulse length time values.
Output monitoring and supervision
Every output is checked and monitored by the EAP through distinct test and supervision functions:
--- Readback of output pattern prior to activation
--- Monitoring of 24V DC from the backplane bus during active output for relay switching
--- Pulse duration controlled by EAP
--- Any detected error indicated via LED.
