After the communication unit and output board module receive and successfully verify an object command, the following steps are executed prior to final command issuance:

• The (1-out-of-n) check on command output monitoring board 23BA22 is activated.

• The resistance of plug-in relays inserted in the switching output circuit is measured and compared against parameterized upper and lower thresholds.

If the resistance falls within limits, the object command output to the selected device is activated via binary output board 23BA20.

• The command output pulse timer is initiated to monitor pulse duration, deactivating the command output based on response indication or when pulse time expires on board 23BA22.

• The command is canceled if test conditions during verification are unmet.

In standard applications, one command output monitoring board 23BA22 per RTU station suffices for (1-out-of-n) verification.

When inserting plug-in relays with different resistance values, two independent check circuits can be driven by board 23BA22 if auxiliary test voltage is supplied by separate isolated voltage sources.
