A Tricon system is made up of one ormore chassis assemblies which containU'O and communication modules. Thefirst chassis ofa system is called themain chassis (model 8110). To enlargea system, expansion chassis (model811 1) and/or RXM chassis (model8112) can be added. (See “SystemConfiguration” on page 1l for details.)

lO Expansion Bus

Each chassis has six RS.485 //O expan-sion bus ports at the top left corner ofthe backplane. There are two sets ofports for channels A, B, and C,providing for two triplicated serialcommunications paths between chassis.One set of cables is required for eachexpansion chassis and for the RXMchassis which houses the pimary RXMmodule set.
