Iron deficiency begins with green deficiency in young leaves while old leaves remain normal. Affected leaves show yellowing mesophyll with green veins, progressing to white leaves with yellow veins, and eventually developing burnt brown spot necrotic tissue that causes leaf dryness, brittleness, and premature leaf drop.
