Proline is one of the twenty amino acids used in living organisms as the building blocks of proteins

• Pays an important role on pollen germination .

On one hand , Proline is a precursor substance for protein synthesis, it could turn into protein directly ,provide enough nitrogen source and form new compounds as a basic material in the participation process of pollen germination . On another hand, Proline can synthesize polyamines in pollen,which regulate cells osmotic stress and protect relative enzymes to withstand the interference of adverse external environment on the pollen germination process ,and improve the probability of successful fertilization.
