1, Description:
Strep-Tag system is a new type of protein purification system which simulates the streptavidin-biotin system. Compared to streptavidin, Strep-Tactin's affinity to Strep-Tag II is at least 10 times larger. The purification extraction condition of strep-tag is mild and the protein can be separated and purified under physiological conditions. In addition, compared to other tags, Strep-Tag II is small 8 amino acid tag (WSHPQFEK). Since the tag is small, it is only about 1 kDa which doesn't affect the structure and function of the protein after fusion. These mild purification condition preserve the biological activity of the protein and produce more than 99% purity in only one extraction step.
