Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is infrared thermal imaging?

Infrared thermal imaging is a method of using infrared radiation and thermal energy to gather information about objects in order to formulate images of them or obtain their temperature information, even in low-visibility environments.

2. How does infrared thermal imaging work?

An infrared thermal imaging system performs passive, non-contact detection and identification using infrared technology. It focuses the infrared radiation of a scene onto a focal plane array infrared detector through an infrared optical system that transmits infrared radiation. The thermal detector converts radiation signals of different intensities into corresponding electrical signals, which are then amplified and video-processed to form an infrared image observable by the naked eye.
