Usage and Features

This coil nail collator is a special kind of automatic welding equipment. 

Combined the advantages of world first-rate products with various feedback from users and long-term troubleshooting accumulation, so far the machines have been improved and upgraded to the 3rd generation with continuous introduction of the latest technology in automatic control system.

Under regular vibrations, the disordered wire nails/roofing nails put in the vibrating feeder are guided to line up along the spiral passage against the wall of feeder and to get through a long downward groove to welding wheels, where two copper-plated wires are welded with the nails at a certain angle, 15° to 16°, then the welded nails are coiled to a fixed length as per the counter to cut off, forming a coil shape with flat top or cone top.

Between welding and coiling, a rust-proof acrylic resin/lacquer dipping and drying unit can be inserted as a option upon buyer’s request ), at last each coil of nails is bound with a rubber band by an operator. The finished coil take-up can also be prformed by robot arm developed by our company for automatic coil take-up & stacking to save labor.

(1) : In China many users prefer to apply the angle at 15.5° in order to accommodate the finished coil nails to air guns with 15° or 16°, otherwise an extra S.S. Nail Holding Wheel has to be separately ordered.

(2): Recommended specifications of welding wires for common coil nails:

In China the manufacturers use copper coated welding wires ,

- popular size : dia. 0.6. 0.7, 0.75 to 0.8mm

- diameter tolerance: +0.01/-0.02mm

- tensile strength: 300 – 365 Mpa

- elongation: ≥ 12%

In addition, the stainless steel coil nails have to use stainless steel welding wires.
