What is PDO Threads?

PDO Threads non-invasive procedure can produce amazing rejuvenation results, and it is almost painless. It does not leave scars or incisions at all. The thread lifting process stimulates the skin to produce collagen and new skin cells. 

Different thread lengths provide a wide range of treatment options, threads will be dissolving in a natural way within years, and at the same time synthesizing new collagen in the treated area. This treatment can make the skin appear smooth and bright, thereby improving the overall texture and youthfulness of the skin.

What are the precautions before treatment?

* All cosmetics need to be removed before treatment, so do not make up before treatment.

* Alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, and a range of dietary supplements, including; St. John's wort, fish oil, ginkgo, vitamin C and E- all can cause bruising and should be avoided 24 hours before treatment.

* If there is an active skin infection, including acne or cold sores, or if you are unwell, including a cold, cough, sore throat, etc., it cannot be treated. Please be sure to contact the clinic to discuss any diseases or new medicines before going to the doctor.

Which type PDO/PCL threads should i choose?

For patients who just want to tighten their skin and rejuvenate, mono thread may be sufficient. Patients who need more lift and volume will better benefit from cog or screw threads.

What types do PDO/PCL threads have?

PDO suture is a material used for thread lifting. PDO stands for polydioxanone, which is an absorbable polymer, flexible and durable, suitable for minimally invasive thread lifting. PDO thread, sometimes called PDS thread, has many textures.

There are three main textures of PDO sutures: mono thread, cog thread and screw thread:

1- Mono thread is a single, smooth suture fixed to the face, which can provide a small lift to the face.

2- Cog thread has a barbed texture, which can provide better lift and increase collagen production.

3- Screw thread has 1-2 intertwined threads to provide volume for the treatment area.

Do you swell after PDO Threads?

Like any operation that uses needles, bruising and swelling may occur. However, in most people, bruises and swelling are mild and will subside in less than a week. There is some postoperative discomfort, which usually resolves quickly in most patients.
