When high accuracy flow measurement of liquids, gases and steam is demanded from the primary flow element, an orifice flange assembly can be welded into a fabricated orifice meter run, incorporating the upstream and downstream pipe sections required by ISO5167-1:2003.
Overview
ABB standard meter runs comprise of an upstream section with 16 diameters of straight pipe and a downstream section with 8 diameters of straight pipe. The Fiscal version of the meter run is manufactured using specially selected pipe and the orifice calculations are based on the actual (not nominal) measured pipe internal diameters.
If higher accuracy is required, these assemblies can be flow calibrated.
