About Excavator Swing Motors
What is an excavator swing motor?
Swing motors are hydraulic motors that generate the turning force for excavator booms using oil pressure. They control rotation direction (right or left) and manage the transmission or interruption of turning power.
How does the excavator swing brake work?
The swing brake is a multi-disc and plate assembly located in the first stage planetary gear assembly. It functions as a spring-applied, hydraulically-released parking brake and is not designed for cyclic service braking. The discs and plates are lubricated by the release signal oil.
