Application Details
Tapered roller bearings are separable components featuring tapered raceways on both inner and outer rings. Available in single row, double row, and four row configurations, these bearings are categorized by the number of roller rows installed.
Single row tapered roller bearings are designed to handle radial loads and unidirectional axial loads. When subjected to radial loading, they generate an axial component that requires balancing with an opposing bearing capable of handling axial forces in the reverse direction.
These radial-thrust type rolling bearings utilize tapered rollers as rolling elements and are available in small and large cone angle variants. Small cone angle bearings primarily accommodate radial loads with radial-axial combinations, typically deployed in pairs with reverse installation configurations. Large cone angle variants are optimized for axial load handling with radial load support, though they are not recommended for pure axial load applications without proper configuration.
