Ferro silicon Description
Ferrosilicon is an iron alloy composed of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is a ferrosilicon alloy, which is made by fusing coke, steel slag and quartz (or silicon dioxide) in an electric furnace. Since silicon and oxygen are easily synthesized in silicon dioxide, iron-silicon is often used as a deoxidizer in the steelmaking process. At the same time, since SiO 2 generates a lot of heat, it is also beneficial to increase the temperature of molten steel while deoxidizing. At the same time, iron-silicon can also be used as an additive of alloying elements, and is widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and silicon steel. Ferrous silicon is commonly used as a reducing agent in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.
