Ferro silicon Description

Ferro silicon is made of coke, scrap steel, and quartz (or silica) as raw materials. It is produced when smelted in an electric furnace to about 2000˚C.The ferro silicon can be crushed into pieces of variable size, to meet the customer's demand. Ferrosilicon 72% is a gray ferro alloy product. It is a ferro alloy composed by 72% silicon and about 27% Fe.In addition to 72% ferrosilicon, we also have FeSi75, FeSi65 and FeSi Low

Ferro Silicon Function: 

Ferrosilicon is often used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking. And because silicon dioxide releases a large amount of heat while deoxidizing, it is also advantageous to increase the temperature of molten steel. At the same time, it is also used as a binder for alloying element ferrosilicon, widely used in ferroalloy production and low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel in ferrosilicon in the chemical industry.
