Electrolytic manganese metal is a simple metal which is obtained by acid leaching of manganese ore and then sent to electrolytic cell for electrolysis. Iron-like appearance, irregular sheet, hard and brittle, bright on one side, rough on the other, silver-white to brown, processed into powder, silver-gray; easy to oxidize in the air, dissolved in dilute acid and displaced hydrogen, slightly higher than room temperature, water can be decomposed and hydrogen released.
