Silicon Metal Description

Silicon Metal lump was produced in electric heating furnace by quartz and coke. Quartz will be redox and became molten silicon liquid. After cooling, it will be solid as we see. The primal silicon metal lump is very large. Then it will be made into smaller lumps which we call standard size. Silicon Metal Lumps will be 10-100mm.

Silicon metal is usually classified according to the content of Si, Fe, Al, Ca. Main types of silicon metal are 553, 441, 411, 421, 3303, 3305, 2202, 2502, 1501, 1101 etc.

Silicon metal grade 441 uses:

Alloying agent in aluminum industry, increasing fluidity and tenacity to improve the castability and weldability of aluminum and its alloy products.
Solar panels manufacturing
Silicon based polymers products such as lubricants, greases, resins, skin and hair products.
Material of Semi-conductor grade silicon.
Iron base alloy additives production.
