Ferro silicon Description
Ferro silicon is an atomized alloy, which is formed by combining iron and silicon with a silicon content range of 15% to 90%. Foundry and ferroalloy industries are the largest users of ferrosilicon.They consume about 90% of ferrosilicon. Among the different grades of ferrosilicon, the 75% ferrosilicon most widely used. In the steel making industry. about IMIT steel is consumed 3-5kg 75%ferrosilicon currently.
Ferro Silicon Application:
1. Used as deoxidizer and alloy agent in steelmaking industry.
2. Used as inoculation agent and spheroidizing agent in the cast iron industry, adding a certain amount of ferrosilicon in the cast iron process can prevent the formation of carbide in iron and promote the precipitation and spheroidization of graphite.
3. 75# ferrosilicon is the main raw material for the production of magnesium metal, with a ton consumption of about 1.1 tons.
