According to the characteristics of alloy heat treatment, aluminum plate can be divided into two categories: non heat treatment strengthened aluminum alloy and heat treatment strengthened aluminum alloy.
1.Non heat treatable strengthened aluminum alloys include pure aluminum 1000 Series), aluminum manganese alloy (3000 Series), aluminum magnesium alloy (5000 Series), aluminum silicon alloy (4000 Series), etc.
2.Heat treatable strengthened aluminum alloys: aluminum magnesium silicon alloy (6000 Series), aluminum copper alloy (2000 Series), aluminum zinc magnesium alloy (7000 Series), etc.
According to the aluminum content, aluminum plate is divided into high-purity aluminum plate according to aluminum alloy composition (aluminum content is more than 99.9%); Pure aluminum plate (aluminum content above 99.6%); Aluminum alloy plate; Composite aluminum plate.
According to the thickness, aluminum plates are divided into thin plates (thickness between 0.2mm-6.0mm); Medium thick plate (between 6.0mm-200mm).
According to different processing technology, aluminum plate can be divided into cold rolled aluminum plate and hot rolled aluminum plate .
4000 series aluminum alloy: has high silicon as high as 4.5-6%. It is widely used for construction materials, mechanical parts, forging materials, welding materials due to the characteristics of heat resistance and wear resistance. The commonly used aluminum alloy is 4A01.
5000 series aluminum alloy: belongs to anti-rust aluminum, and it is called aluminum-magnesium alloy, whose magnesium content is as high as 3-5%. The main features are low density, high tensile strength and high elongation. It is also widely used in conventional industries. The commonly used aluminum alloy include 5052, 5005, 5083, and 5086.
6000 series aluminum alloy: mainly contains magnesium and silicon, thus it has the advantages of 4000 series and 5000 series. The commonly used aluminum alloy is 6061 and 6063. 6061 is a cold-treated aluminum forging product, suitable for the applications with high requirements for corrosion resistance and oxidation. It has the characteristics of easy coating and good processability.
7000 series aluminum alloy: mainly contains zinc. It also belongs to the aerospace series. It is an aluminum-magnesium-zinc-copper alloy, a heat-treatable alloy and it is a super-hard aluminum alloy with good wear resistance. The commonly used aluminum alloy is 7075.
