Alloy Steel Cone-Point Set Screws

These alloy steel set screws have a pointed tip that wedges into the contact surface for a secure hold on soft materials such as brass. Length listed is the overall length.

Black-oxide alloy steel set screws resist corrosion in dry environments.
 
Product Features:
 
Commonly used to secure pulleys to shafts,socket set screws are generally headless and rest flush with or below the surface of the application.
The cone point penetrates or locates into a depression in the mating material to achieve the best grip of set screw points and permanently set parts.
 
Notes:
 
Full Dog and Half Dog Points have an extended tip that fits into a hole drilled in a shaft.Use these for permanent location of one part to another.They often replace dowel pins.
Length is measured in overall length including the tip.Often used as adjusting screws,Flat Point,Oval Point,Nylon Tip and Brass Tip screws cause little or no damage to the contact surface.These screws are good for thin wall thickness and soft plugs and designed for frequent resetting and relocating.With flat points,greatest contact is provided on shafts with areas that are ground flat.Nylon patch acts as thread locker.
