Chevron Liquid Collector how it works:
The liquid falling from the upper packing is collected by the collecting plate, flows through the lower guide tank, and then into the center of the bottom collection tank. When the diameter of the tower body is large, in addition to the central collection groove, the surrounding ring collection groove is also set, and the collection shutter is fixed on the middle horizontal groove and the ring groove. The liquid collected by the collecting plate flows into horizontal and annular tanks, and then through the central pipe of the horizontal tank flows into the redistributor below for mixing and redistribution.

There is a limit to the height of each section of the tower packing, usually equivalent to 15-20 theoretical plates, which should be divided into sections. Therefore, the liquid collector and liquid re-distributor are essential tower components.
As the liquid flows downward in the tower, uneven distribution may occur, resulting in uneven concentration of liquid on the cross section of the tower. The liquid collection redistributor can completely collect and mix liquid phase with uneven velocity and concentration, which is conducive to the full use of the separation efficiency of the tower. In addition, the rising gas must be evenly distributed in the upper packing with little resistance.
