How to choose the water distributor inside the chemical tower?
When we need to select a liquid distributor, we need to consider tower diameter, flow rate, adjustment ratio, usable height (in retrofit cases) and dirt resistance.
Weir gravity distributor:
In general, weir gravity dispensers are one of the least troublesome. It has excellent support and can handle large liquid loads. However, it usually provides only a limited number of drip points (at least 30 weirs per square metre). It is also extremely sensitive to levelness and liquid surface agitation.
Hole plate gravity distributor:
Usually manifested as disc type, deck type or tunnel (groove) type. The orifice disc distributor consists of a disc. There are round or rectangular risers for steam flow, and perforations for liquid flow through the pot.
The orifice plate trough distributor consists of parallel grooves with perforated bottoms for liquid flow. The air rises between the tanks. Water tanks are usually connected to each other by cross channels (called separation boxes), which help balance the liquid levels in the different tanks. This fluted liquid distributor provides greater open space for steam flow and is easier to support.
Orifice dispensers can be designed to have a large number of drop points to provide superior liquid distribution, although it may be subject to corrosion and clogging. The size of the throttle hole shall be such as to keep the liquid head to a minimum under the required adjustment conditions and to avoid dispenser overflow under the adjustment conditions. Avoid using very small orifice diameters (<4mm) to prevent fouling.
