Two stage trough liquid distributor
The two-stage trough liquid distributor consists of a main tank (main tank) and a sub-tank (sub-tank), and the main tank is located above the sub-tank. The reflux or feed liquid enters the main tank through a feed pipe above the main tank, which is then proportionally distributed to the secondary tank. The structural dimensions of the main and secondary tanks are determined by liquid flow rate, column diameter and distribution quality requirements. The two-stage trough liquid distributor is simple in structure and easy to assemble from the manhole into the tower. This structure is usually used in towers where people can enter the installation and the diameter of the tower is more than 800mm.
The main tank is an open structure with a rectangular cross section, whose length depends on the diameter of the tower and the size of the tank, and whose height depends on operational flexibility, usually 200-300 mm. Its function is to distribute the liquid steadily and evenly into the sub-tank below. Therefore, the bottom or side wall of the main tank should be equipped with a liquid distribution device, the main tank should receive the liquid from the feed pipe, should be equipped with a stabilizing device, the tank should be equipped with positioning and fixing devices. The liquid flow rate in the main tank should not exceed 0.4m/s, otherwise it will lead to a significant drop in liquid level and reduce the quality of liquid distribution.
The role of the secondary tank is to evenly distribute the liquid from the main tank to the packing surface, so the secondary tank is very important for liquid distribution. Its length is determined by the diameter and layout of the tower. The width varies slightly, generally 30-60mm, depending on the flow rate of the liquid and the residence time required. Its height is related to operational flexibility and is generally 250-300mm.
