Knitted metal structure packaging material:
Structured packing is a family of materials specially designed for distillation, absorption and chemical reactors. They typically consist of thin corrugated metal plates or gauze designed to force fluid through complex paths throughout the column. The design is intended to eventually produce a large surface area for contact between different phases.
Structured packaging is made from a variety of materials, including perforated embossed metal corrugated plate, plastic or wire mesh. The resulting product is an open honeycomb with an inclined flow channel, producing a high specific surface area and low airflow resistance. Augmentation is often chosen to maximize liquid diffusion, which is ideal for low pressure and irrigation rate applications.
