Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. SARS-CoV-2 is an enveloped, single-stranded RNA virus of the β genus. The virus can cause mild to severe respiratory illness and has spread globally. The SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Test Kit (GICA) for home use is a rapid lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 directly from nasal (anterior) swab, without vira transport media. The Kit contains all components required to carry out an assay for SARS-CoV-2.

Application

This kit is used for in vitro qualitative detection of nucleocapsid(N) protein antigen from SARS-CoV-2 in human nasal (anterior) swab.

This kit is authorized for home use with self-collected observed direct nasal (anterior) swab from individuals aged 15 years or older or adult collected nasal (anterior) swab from individuals aged four years or older.

The test can only be completed by adding sample and diluent in two steps.
