Detection principle

• p16 causes cell cycle arrest
• Ki-67 marks cell proliferation
• Simultaneous expression suggests a cell cycle disorder, a "carcinoma."

• p16 (Nuclear + Cytoplasm) Ki-67 (Nuclear)
• Easy-to-read color identification, no dependence on morphology to find "cancerous" cells
• A positive double stain indicates that the cervical cells are diseased.

Better specificity
